share/sync gmail calendar and addressbook with evolution (at linux)

 

Evolution is a nice mailer or PIM, can be treated as an equivalent to outlook for MS Windows clan. The current release makes it very easy and enjoyable to share gmail calendar and address book with evolution.

Calendar

Click Calendar at Evolution

Start at File- > New -> Calendar, bring out the above window.

Type google # select this

Name <type anyone your choice>

Color <your choice>

Name <your gmail user name> # mygmail.xman from your gmail address mygmail.xman@gmail

Calendar  <make selection> after click on Retrieve list (it will ask for gmail password)

click ok to complete configuration.

Then, you can sync by click [Send/Receive] button on evolution. Of course, you can add entries at evolution too.

Address Book

Click Contact at Evolution

Start at File- > New -> Address Book, bring out the above window.

Type google # select this

Name <type anyone your choice>

Server

Username <your gmail user name> # mygmail.xman from your gmail address mygmail.xman@gmail

check Use SSL

click ok to complete configuration.

Then, you can sync by click [Send/Receive] button on evolution. Of course, you can add entries at evolution too.
