Google Earth on Linux (fedora 14)

GPS logger is a nice apps for Samsung Galaxy S I9000. It can log GPS point in background. The recordings are stored in a kml file. Google Earth can open such file.

I intsalled google earth on my fedora 14 using rpm package. However, It can’t start, with an error

“/lib/ld-lsb.so.3: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory”

to fix it,

yum install redhat-lsb.i686

or

install lsb-core package for Debian/Ubuntu

After installation, startup seems ok, but with problem too

Google Earth could not write to the current cache or My Places file location.
The values will be set as follows:

My Places Path: “/home/virgil/.googleearth”
Cache Path: “/home/virgil/.googleearth/Cache”

Simple answer

rm -rf  ~/.config/Google

After all, I opened up the kml file to view the gps tracking. nice!!
