Sync iPhone and iPod Touch With Linux, Possible??

I am interested in purchasing a IPHONE 3G. It is a right combination for me (phone, wifi, and GPS). Sync with linux is the question to be dressed prior to buying.

Possible approaches that I think of are:

  • Native linux applications, alike gtk-ipod?
  • Native apple apps at XP guest on VirtualBox or VMWare? I expect better chance with VirtualBox, as it handle USB physically well at XP guest
  • other work around?

Surfing web a bit, here are two possible links. validation is need to follow up.

  1. Forget syncing it with Linux. Does not really work yet. What works is syncing with Google-Addresses. That is nice. But you need a Mac for that.

Syncing with Virtualbox works but you need some computing power for that.
