Features of LibreOffice 3.3

Strictly speaking, Oracle’s and The Document Foundation (TDF)’s LibreOffice are two varieties of the same origin. Although they are dominantly similar, some differences are notable too.

Along with all the features of OpenOffice, the first stable release LibreOffice 3.3 provides new features as well. Some of them have been listed below:

  • The ability to import and work with SVG files;
  • An easy way to format title pages and their numbering in Writer;
  • A more-helpful Navigator Tool for Writer;
  • Improved ergonomics in Calc for sheet and cell management; and
  • Microsoft Works and Lotus Word Pro document import filters.

Users can go ahead and download your version of LibreOffice 3.3. My is fedora, I downloaded x64 rpm and


tar zxvf LibO_3.3.0_Linux_x86-64_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz

cd LibO_3.3.0rc4_Linux_x86_install-rpm_en-US/RPMS

sudo yum localinstall *.rpm –nogpgckeck

start your libreoffice at
